Cré Wanderings
Cré, the Irish word for both earth and clay, serves as a guiding principle for my nature-based approach to ceramic making. Through a series of seasonal Cré Wanderings, I aim to share this intuitive and connective practice with others.
Join me in walking the wild landscapes of Ireland, from ancient woodlands to wild coastlines, to discover new ways of expressing ourselves through the nature of clay. During our walk, we’ll find inspiration and natural tools within the landscape and experiment with creative land-based processes together. At the end of our trail, we’ll settle down at a quiet spot to create a clay vessel or object inspired by our surroundings and experience.
I am welcoming adults of all abilities to join a Cré Wandering, including those who are new to clay, ceramic enthusiasts, fellow artists and makers.
If you are new to clay or an enthusiast, you might be interested in exploring this expressive medium as part of a unique experience in nature, without any pre-determined expectations or outcomes.
If you´re a fellow artist or maker, you might be interested in exploring creative land-based processes with clay while engaging in a group practice.
I also offer a shorter family edition of this workshop, suitable for age 7+ attending with a parent, family member or friends.
~ walk the wild landscape together
~ learn how to read the landscape as a creative practice

As a nature-based artist and facilitator, I care about our environment and follow best practices that respect and sustain our beautiful wild places. My experience includes membership with Leave No Trace Ireland and the Youghal Blue & Green Community Network, as well as certification in Permaculture.
- Booking is essential due to limited group size
- €60 per adult for a 3 hour excursion including materials and ceramic firing service
- €60 per family (1 adult & 1 child age 7+) and €25 per additional child for a 1.5 hour family excursion including materials and firing service
- Option to bring your clay vessel or object home on the day to air-dry, or leave it with me to be fired into ceramic and collected later (2-4 weeks), or leave the clay behind to be reclaimed
Please note that this workshop focuses on the creative process of working with clay in nature using prepared clay and does not include sourcing and processing wild clay for use onsite, although there will be the opportunity to identify some wild clay together and conduct some basic tests if the group is interested. Please register your interest if you would like to learn how to identify and prepare local clay and other materials for ceramics as part of a dedicated skills workshop, thank you.
